Today I am reviewing the new Nude By Nature Flawless Liquid Foundation which currently retails for $39.95 for 30ml.
I received a free sample of the product from Priceline for being apart of the Sister Club rewards program. It came with 3 shades to try – however the above image is missing Classic Tan because I gave it to my mum to try.
Once I popped open the packet and placed it onto my tray, I noticed that the formula was quite thick and did not move. From first impression, it looked like I had enough foundation for 2 uses!
I decided to prime the left side of my face with the MAC PREP + PRIME primer using the Morphe brush. Once the primer had soaked in, I began to apply the foundation.
Before I get into the application, I thought I would advise you NOT to apply foundation over your entire face before blending. This foundation dries down extremely fast & I struggled to blend it out. Do it section by section and this will avoid streaks and the foundation coming off when going over it again.
I used a Real Techniques brush to apply the foundation to the primed size of my face & a beauty blender for the unprimed side.
I use this Real Techniques brush for foundation every single time I wear it, however for this foundation, it just would not work. The foundation was streaky and struggled to blend.
When applying with the beauty blender, I found that it blended in a lot better, especially around my eyes and nose, however there was no coverage. It basically covered some redness and that was it. The other side where I used the brush had a higher amount of coverage, but I would not say it was full coverage. Below is the image once my makeup was done. I used the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder to set my face.
First check in: I have been currently wearing this foundation for roughly 5 hours and I am oily basically over my entire face. As I am going out tonight, I will reset my face with the Rimmel powder again and see how long it lasts. As for coverage, it is very light. It hasn’t separated around my nose or eyes.
- Great if you are looking for light coverage
- Lightweight – felt like I was wearing nothing (probably because it also looked like it too)
- Did not cake around my nose or under my eyes
- Dried down to a semi matte finish
- In order to make the foundation fuller coverage, you will end up using a lot more product compared to other full coverage foundations
- Dries way too fast – difficult to blend
- Difficult to build up coverage – begins to look patchy
- Sticks to dry patches on your skin like healing acne spots
Would I purchase it? No I wouldn’t. I don’t see a benefit in using this product for me. For a similar effect, you would be better off using a BB cream. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either.
